Michael Perscheid

I'm a researcher and development manager with the SAP Innovation Center Network and its Chairman Projects and Strategic Projects team. Before joining SAP in 2014, I was a postdoctoral researcher and Ph.D. student in computer science with the Software Architecture Group, led by Prof. Dr. Robert Hirschfeld, at the Hasso-Plattner-Institute (University of Potsdam).

My main research focuses on software engineering, maintenance, and reverse engineering. In particular, I'm interested in debugging, dynamic analysis, and program comprehension. The following movie (in German) presents an abstract of my work named Test-driven Fault Navigation (at minute 3:00). My projects are primarily implemented in JavaScript, Smalltalk for the Squeak development environment, and Python.

I received a doctoral degree in computer science (2013) from the University of Potsdam, Germany. Furthermore, I hold a Bachelor (2007) and Master of Science (2008) in software engineering from the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI), University of Potsdam, Germany. From 2008 to 2012, I was a member of the HPI Research School on "Service-oriented Systems Engineering".

In my spare time, I enjoy playing basketball, archery, and riding my bicycle.
